Jen's Birthday

April 29, 2008....Happy Birthday to my First Filipina Friend Jenalyn Wellen who lived at least 20 miles from me. I was happy yesterday that I was able to celebrate her 92 birthday today with another Filipina named Caryl who lived 40 miles away from me and 20 miles away from Jen. We had so much fun especially the delicious foods that Jen had cooked and Caryl's crunchier Rolls with sweet and sour sauce especially made by her and I brought some sweet chocolate cake baked by my husband Brad. Thanks to him that really made our day good. Anyway, I've lost several times yesterday in going to Jen's place and in going back home since that's my first time to drove over at her place and good thing I was able to find my way back it was really such a good driving experience even if I was a little bit nervous and scared especially with two little children sitting at the back good thing on our way home they both slept and in our way to Jen's place both of them are awake the youngest wants me to accommodate her but I can't since I am driving and the oldest sister was yelling at her to be quite because she's trying to sleep. What a fun experience? to hear those different voices. One thing I am thankful yesterday was that I came home safely together with my two GIRLS after I went through even if I lost so many times but I am still thankful and indeed I am very grateful for everything and especially with my two Filipina Friends. Until next time...Here's some pictures that I took during Jen's birthday!

The Forbidden Kingdom

Today, April 26, 2008, we went to Mt.Vernon, Kerasotes, watch movie starring Jackie Chan & Jet Lee. It was a good action Kung Fu movie. I like it very much and also my girls and most of all my husband we are fans of Jackie Chan & Jet Lee. There's not a lot of people were there we watched it the 4:10p.m. this movie was indeed good not even a single kissing scene but it's more violent and action it was fun and lively to watch eventhough I felt bad because I was being screwed $2 of our tickets since I bought it online at fandango they charge me $13 and I found out it's only $11 there at the movie theater. Watching movie is one of our favorite thing to do. After we watched we went to LOWE's buy some vertical blinds for our bedroom and bathroom then went to Staples and finally went to Wal-mart it was good time we bought some supper at wal-mart decided to eat inside the car we bought some crispy chicken, potato salad and orange jell-o. It was good enough to filled up and a little bit cheaper. So when we get home we don't have to worry about fixing our supper!

Anyway, all I can say destiny is on at our hand.

Gotta go see you next time.....Enjoy...

Wonderful & Lucky Night

April 24, 2008 56th Annual Wabash Telephone Cooperative, Inc. meeting. It was fun and lots of foods and drinks the good thing is FREE and a plus the entertainment and my oldest daughter won $10 Wal-mart GC for the children's raffle. But sorry to say we didn't win from the Adults raffle but for me being there and enjoying everything is already makes me a winner that is really one of the thing that I always look forward every year to attend the annual meeting because they always treats their customers with high appreciation and feeds us. Anyway, that's one of the things that my family loves to do and also my youngest daughter had her chickenpox immunization I was happy that she was okey and happy as it could be because I knew some kids won't feel good after when they got their shots but not my little girl I am proud of her because she is tough and strong enough to fight with it. She cried a little when the nurse pokes the needle on her right leg and I feel pity on her too makes me wanna do it and pass onto it to her I wish that's possible enough to do it but she has to do it and take it for her own benefit. She's lucky to be immunized while as young as she is because in my case I didn't had to go through with it since my family was so poor. So, indeed my children will still blessed!

We brought some take home Chicken, Beef burger and cold soda for our neighbors since they weren't there so we decided to bring home foods for them eventhough people might think we are such a pig I just can't help laughing about it. hahahahahahahahahaha.

Another thing is, I sent my N-400 application for my citizenship last April 11, 2008 it was Saturday I let my husband bring it to the post office since it has to be a certified mail due to my eagerness to sent it out I forgot to include the documents they needed I only put the papers that I filled-up and the fee and close the envelope so I was disappointed about it that I wish I did not rushed things. Well, I guess it turns out okey because I got a letter from them about the schedule for my fingerprinting this coming May 5, 2008, CINCO DE MAYO! Hooray! What a big relief????? that they did not rejected and sent back my application instead they accepted it and tells me that they will let me know what to bring during my interview hopefully it will be soon enough because I am really excited to get this things done. Sometimes makes me sick more paperworks, paperworks and I will be glad and my husband that we will be get over with INS paperworks...hahahahahahahaha...that's a good thought isn't it????

Anyway, gotta go to bed now it's late...I need to park right now...Until next time..More updates! Enjoy!

It's a Tale of Two Moms this Mother's Day--the second edition! This time, read Tricia's suggestions for Mother's Day gifts:

May is like a second Christmas for me because it's my birthday, Mother's Day, and almost my wedding anniversary. So you can be sure that I have been surfing for gift ideas! Here are some of my top suggestions this year based on past experience as well as new trends:

Mrs. Prindables -- If you haven't seen my video blog about Mrs. Prindables, you have no idea what you are missing. Caramel, chocolate, nuts...and a healthy green apple buried somewhere in there. Choose from a single special apple to a variety package. If you are lucky, mom might even share with you (but don't count on it!).

Sephora -- I'm a Sephora girl. A gift card is perfect for anyone, but if you know a little bit about what mom likes, you can get more specific. The Best of Sephora package is a great value ($96 worth of products for $65) and has a nice variety of items that are universal favorites at Sephora. You also can't go wrong with a set of Philosophy Shampoo, Shower Gel, and Bubble Bath. A sassy mom would appreciate the Cocktail Party set (Margarita, Mimosa, and Daiquiri). A more traditional mom might like the Just Because set (Milk Chocolate, White Chocolate, and Dark Chocolate).

1-800-FLORALS -- I'm a sucker for flowers. I know that not every mom is. But when they drive up with that big bouquet with my name on it, I can't help but get excited. I love that 1-800-FLORALS uses local companies to deliver my flowers. Every mom deserves flowers at least once on Mother's Day. Go traditional with roses or get creative with a bright spring assortment.

PajamaGram -- One of my favorite gifts ever came from PajamaGram. And it wasn't just the pajamas themselves (although they have been washing up nicely for over a year). It was how special the whole gift came packaged--a big reusable box, a door sign, and a scented sachet. With a wide selection of gown, shorts, and pants, you'll find something for every mom. And don't forget the robe!

Time -- Ah, the gift of time. No, I'm not talking about a Sunshine Rewards merchant. I'm talking about the seconds, minutes, hours on Mother's Day where you create a memory for years to come. Whether mom needs an afternoon with the family or a few hours to herself to curl up with a good book, don't forget that time is the most precious of gifts this Mother's Day.

It's been a while...

Hello To Everyone,

I've been very busy and lazy lately that is why it's been a while for me to post something here. Anyway, a little updates about us here in Cisne,IL. Last Friday April 17, 2008, we went to Evansville, Stake Center, for a Relief Society Activity. Anyway, I invited Jenalyn, her husband Darin and another Filipina Caryl to go with us. So, they did except Caryl she didnt go with us but hopefully next time. It was a good time since my two daughters sleep over to one of our church friend she always wanted so bad to baby sit them so that was it and finally but that was the first time also that my girls has been away from me and then overnight I really missed them that night and I kept saying to my husband I can't live without my children and You! I cried and want to be Saturday morning since we had to pick them the following day and when my oldest daughter saw me she said " Oh Momma, I miss you, I'm back, Where have you been? and she hugged me and I was happy about it and I give her a hug! " She is one of the sweetest thing that I've got and same also with my youngest daughter she cried and give me a kiss when she sees me and wanting something special that she missed it the whole night her milk supply. Anyway, for me, my children are everything to me and I hope they feel same way too. Until next time...

7 Tips to Shape Up Before Summer

Summer is just a few months away, and if you’re still struggling to lose those extra pounds, all hope is not lost. You can still safely drop some weight before the season officially kicks off. The key is to be smart, sensible, and ready to meet your goals. Here are some tips to help you get started:

1. Avoid crash diets. They may promise the world, but the truth is, many of these diets can be both unhealthy and ineffective. Instead, seek out a weight loss program that fits your lifestyle, and join today.

2. Be realistic about exercise. Becoming good at anything takes time and practice. Attempting to run 5 miles after months of limited exercise will only increase your chances of injury. Instead, start off slow, even if it means walking around your neighborhood for 30 minutes a day, three times a week. If you’re looking to step up your fitness routine, talk to a trainer at a local gym for professional pointers. Maybe it’s time to try something completely new, such as yoga or tai chi.

3. Be efficient. You’ve seen them before: people who go to the gym to work out, but spend most of their time chatting. But if time is limited , then use it wisely at the gym . If you don’t belong to a gym and work out at home, dedicate yourself to doing the most that you can (at the appropriate heart rate) for a given amount of time.

4. Find your muse. Figure out what motivates you, and use it. Do you really want to fit into a new outfit for your family reunion in early June? Find a picture of that outfit and put it on your fridge. Some people are motivated by rewards such as manicures or a new outfit while others get pleasure out of compliments or recognition. Figure out what truly works for you, and use it to your advantage.

5. Stay determined. This might sound easier than it is. To truly succeed at long-term weight loss you have to be focused on making permanent lifestyle changes. Take some time to really think about what these changes mean for you and how you can truly incorporate them into your life.

6. Put together a toolbox. Put together a collection of coupons, recipes, weight- loss tips, magazines, fashion catalogs, websites, blogs, family photos, and even old photos of yourself. All of these pieces will help you stay motivated on your weight-loss journey.

7. Take care of yourself. This may be the most important tip of all. If you don’t take care of yourself, who will? Your body is the only one you’ve got, so treat it with the respect it deserves.

10 Reasons to Stop Drinking Soda

Children sip it, college students crave it, and adults gulp it to get through the workday. But according to a growing body of research, America’s favorite fizzy drink isn’t just a harmless vice—it’s a genuine health hazard that can cause obesity, bone loss, and tooth decay. Some studies even suggest that soda can increase your risk for diseases such as diabetes and cancer. Read on to get the real story behind these sparkling soft drinks.

Here, the top 10 reasons why you should put pop to a stop.

1. It makes you gain weight. According to a 2005 study conducted by the University of Texas Health Science Center, drinking one to two cans of soda a day increases a person’s risk of being overweight or obese by 32.8 percent. And if you think diet soda is a better option, think again: The researchers found that those who drank one to two cans of diet soda per day were at an even higher risk (54.5 percent) of being overweight or obese.

2. It increases your disease risk. A 2007 study published in the American Heart Association’s journal Circulation found that people who drink soda every day, whether regular or diet, were 44 percent more likely to develop metabolic syndrome—a condition that greatly increases your risk for heart disease and diabetes.

3. It has no nutritional value. A 20-ounce bottle of cola contains nearly 250 calories, but take a look at the label, and you’ll see that it has virtually no vitamins or minerals. In fact, the only things soda is packed with are sugar and caffeine—two ingredients for which FDA has no recommended daily allowance.

4. It doesn’t satisfy your thirst. When it comes to quenching your thirst, water is the gold standard, but herbal tea and fruit juice are also good options. Soda, on the other hand, is likely to make you thirstier because caffeine is a diuretic and sugar interferes with the body’s absorption of fluids.

5. It’s bad for digestion. Soda’s effects on digestion are a source of ongoing debate, but some experts believe the phosphoric acid these beverages contain may disturb the acid-alkaline balance of the stomach. As a result, they believe, soda drinkers may develop digestional distress, acid reflux, stomach inflammation, and intestinal erosion.

6. It can be addictive. A 2000 study published in the Archives of Family Medicine revealed that soft-drink manufacturers add caffeine to soda for one reason only: to get consumers hooked. Although this type of addiction may seem benign, experts are quick to point out that caffeine is a stimulant, and once you’re addicted, going cold turkey can create withdrawal symptoms, including fatigue, depression, irritability, tremors, sleep deprivation, and headaches.

7. It’s not eco-friendly. Believe it or not, many people still don’t recycle their bottles and cans. In fact, it’s estimated that some 50 billion aluminum cans and plastic bottles from soft drinks get thrown into landfills every year. Even if you recycle, the containers are still energy-intensive to mine, produce, and recycle.

8. It’s bad for your bones and teeth. According to a recent Tufts University study, women who drank three 12-ounce colas a day had 5 percent less bone density than women who drink less than a serving a day. As the researchers explained, the phosphoric acid in cola prevents calcium from being absorbed by the body. Not surprisingly, soda is also damaging for teeth: A 2006 study, published in General Dentistry, reported that the citric and/or phosphoric acid in soft drinks can be harmful and corrosive to a healthy smile.

9. It may cause cancer. Although still controversial, some scientists believe that soda can increase your cancer risk. A 2006 study from Sweden’s Karolinska Institutet supports the theory: Study subjects who drank high quantities of fizzy or syrup-based soft drinks twice a day or more ran a 90 percent higher risk of developing pancreatic cancer than those who never drank them.

10. It costs a lot of money. Compared to fruit juice or milk, soft drinks may seem inexpensive, but when you consider the lack of nutritional value, soda seems like a rip-off. And keep in mind that the costs of soda can quickly add up. The average 12-ounce can of soda costs about $1 from the vending machine, so if you drank two a day for a year, you’d spend a whopping $730 on pop every year.

I wanna know your traits and personalities of Daisy and Jenalyn.

I'm tired today...SUPER...

Hmmmmmmmmmm....I don't know what to say but all I know and feel that I am really so tired as in to the max. We went to the church today and I am out of energy it is probably because yesterday I went to bed so late around 3:00AM which is already Sunday and which is not good. I need to break this bad habit of going to bed so late and also Tisha went to bed so late and she was sleeping at the church which is not also good just like MISTY to think Saturday and Sunday is my favorite days. Anyway, good thing tonight we had a good supper my dear husband make some mash potatoes, peas and burger steak so I am energized now makes my tummy full and the other reason why am I also so tired yesterday because it was raining, windy and cold here it feels like still winter and so most of the day we stayed home and waiting for Sunday and today again same thing yesterday so cold until now we are still using our fireplace which is compare to last year we stopped using our fireplace at the end of March because it was started warm and I think this year it is kind of late for Spring...HUH!!! So hard to tell when is the weather it is going to be warm? All I can say my favorite season of the year is SPRING because everything will be turning to GREEN especially the dead trees will come to alive. It is kind of funny the first time when I came over here last March 2, 2004 I still remember I ask Brad " Are all of those trees were dead? " LOL..And Brad said nope they are just resting and you will be surprise in a few months they will come to alive! And yes he is right! All I can say, God's power is so marvelous and no man can ever compete with it and indeed he is a mighty king of all creations. Glad to know that and be grateful for everything what he made each day!

Well, I guess sometimes, being a MOMMA, will wears me out and sometimes there are times in our life that to we need to be recharge again like cellphones if batteries are low-batt or dead needs to be recharge in order to use it again. So, just mother needs to be recharge over and over again. Sometimes kids can really wears me out especially I have to do everything like giving bath, feed them, prepare their meals, read them, teach them and most especially pick up their toys which I have to do that every single day because they always love to scattered it everywhere here at the house and I have to find it everyday sometimes my oldest daughter helps me picking and cleaning up and put them in place and sometimes she just said MOMMA, I am tired I can't help you! HUH! What a good excuse? Anyway, but still worth it to be a MOMMA.

For me, my biggest role as a MOMMA is to teach my children with good principles in life while they are young because they will remember those good teachings while they grow! And also I do believe that the best teacher to my children's life it should be ME first and here at HOME then later on the outside party. And also I teach them and I have to learn them also of what is inside their hearts and minds. I may not be the best teacher but I will try harder enough to be a good mother and teacher.

Anyway, to all those mothers out there I encourage you to be the first teacher and learner to your children and they will appreciate it and give thanks to you!

Until next time again...Enjoy!

An Interview With God

I dreamed I had an interview with God.
"Come in," God said. "So, you would like to interview Me?"

"If you have the time," I said.

God smiled and said: "My time is eternity and is enough to do everything; What questions do you have in mind to ask me?"

"What surprises you most about mankind?"

God answered:

"That they get bored of being children, are in a rush to grow up, and then long to be children again.

"That they lose their health to make money and then lose their money to restore their health.

"That by thinking anxiously about the future, they forget the present, such that they live neither for the present nor the future.

"That they live as if they will never die, and they die as if they had never lived."

God's hands took mine and we were silent for awhile and then I asked...

"As a parent, what are some of life's lessons you want your children to learn?"

God replied with a smile:

"To learn that they cannot make anyone love them. What they can do is to let themselves be loved.

"To learn that what is most valuable is not what they have in their lives, but who they have in their lives.

"To learn that it is not good to compare themselves to others. All will be judged individually on their own merits, not as a group on a comparison basis!

"To learn that a rich person is not the one who has the most, but is one who needs the least.

"To learn that it only takes a few seconds to open profound wounds in persons we love, and that it takes many years to heal them.

"To learn to forgive by practicing forgiveness.

"To learn that there are persons that love them dearly, but simply do not know how to express or show their feelings.

"To learn that money can buy everything but happiness.

"To learn that two people can look at the same thing and see it totally different.

"To learn that a true friend is someone who knows everything about them...and likes them anyway.

"To learn that it is not always enough that they be forgiven by others, but that they have to forgive themselves."

I sat there for awhile enjoying the moment. I thanked Him for his time and for all that He has done for me and my family, and He replied, "Anytime. I'm here 24 hours a day. All you have to do is ask for me, and I'll answer."

This song is especially dedicated to all the MOMMA out there. To all the children please take good care of your MOMMA and love them to the end they only be here ONCE in a lifetime..

MOTHERHOOD is a Special Gift

For me Motherhood is a Special Gift that every woman deserves to enjoy. There is no way to describe the joy of being a mother even if you are new MOMMA or second time MOMMA the feeling is always even gets better and better ever than before. I find a lot of comfort in knowing each moment of PARENTHOOD gets better than the last.

But of course YOU want to slow it down and savor every " FIRST " every giggle and laughters. Even the late nights alone in a rocking chair becomes so PRECIOUS. As I watched my children grow each day, I've found out that I've grown to as a whole HUMAN BEING.

Therefore, MOTHERHOOD is a sacred calling but sometimes feel overwhelmed - and undervalued our roles as MOTHERS. It may not easy but it is WORTH it!

It is a SPECIAL GIFT...

My Family is My World

My world is empty without the existence of My Family because of them I have the reason to live each day and be grateful for the day and has the reason to smile because most especially of my two sweet girls can't ask more than anything I always said to myself I maybe the poorest woman into this whole wide world but because of my GIRLS I became the richest MOMMA, thanks to them they let me feel it and it so nice to hear those precious words MOMMA, I LOVE YOU, MOMMA, I'M SORRY, MOMMA, PLEASE, MOMMA THANK YOU and so on and so forth. What a great joy to hear those words coming from the mouth of your precious children. Thanks to my girls because of them we are FAMILY which means....

Father And Mother I Love You.....

A little about ME...

I would like to introduce myself. I am a proud MOMMA which is a combined word of MOM & MAMA which I always love to say like that instead of MOTHER. I can proudly say that I am blessed by God with two beautiful girls ages 3 and 1 yrs.old. I chose that title I LOVE BEING A MOMMA because for me MOTHERHOOD is a joy, priceless and worth every single day.

Before I came into the world of MOTHERHOOD, let me do some introduction first about myself. I was born and raise of a goodly and earthly parents of the PHILIPPINES in VISAYAN region province of Cebu and in a small island of TALIMA, OLANGO,LAPU-LAPU CITY. I am the sixth child out of nine children had 2 sisters and 6 brothers....

I got married to an American guy last March 3, 2004 @ Nauvoo Temple, IL. I found the man of my dreams and which is the father of my two girls through one of the online dating sites ldspals.com last December 17, 2002. Sometimes, I could always said that Life is full of mysteries and only time can tell about our DESTINY. Love moves in a msyterious way. I have no idea that my journey into this world has just begun when I experienced the gift of MOTHERHOOD.

My first daughter was the result of our wedding honeymoon night that's why I've got pregnant quick same year we got married I had her before the end of that year. At first I had a mix feelings of emotions got so scared and don't know what to do. If I would be happy to embrace the motherhood gift well, guess what it turns out to be great that is why I got pregnant again two years later because deep in my HEART I LOVE BEING A MOMMA @ all times eventhough it is a 24 hour job no pay, no holidays and yet resignation is impossible but one thing for SURE it is a PRICELESS and JOY to everyone woman that deserves to enjoy it every single day!

I enjoy so much watching my two girls growing so fast while I am a FULL-TIME MOMMA which is I am always grateful to have my time to stay both of them at home! Thank God for this great blessings and opportunity that thou has given me to be a stay home MOMMA.

This is one of the reason, why I decided to create my own blog, I want to express, share and show to the world of how much I enjoyed being a PROUD Momma and appreciate everything what the LORD has given ME to this world together with my husband, children, friends and extended families all over the world.

My journey to this blog has just begun. And from now on I will be posted more good thoughts, feelings and other things in my blog each day!

To all the readers particularly to all the MOMMA enjoy, have fun reading, comments, suggestions are highly appreciated and most welcome!
